Griffin Technology NA22046 Review by K. Cuthbertson "Outnumbered (4 boys!)" (Indian Trail, NC)
I had purchased one of these over a year ago in order to be able to listen to my iPod in the car. It was also useful in that it doubled as a car charger for my phone (or the iPod, as the need arose on long trips). However, that initial iTrip was lost when someone broke into my vehicle this summer. Having had no problems with the first one (other than the occasional background static or need to switch frequencies, as mentioned by other reviewers), I immediately went out and bought another one to replace it. The only difference I could see between them was that the first one was black and the new one was silver and black. At any rate, it worked great for a while. But I have had it about four months now, and it doesn't work more often than it does. The USB port still charges devices with no problem, but the cable for channeling the iPod to the radio apparently is kaput. I will be in the middle of listening to a song or podcast when the power suddenly dies on the iTrip. The radio switches to loud static and the display on the iTrip goes blank. Occasionally I can get the connection to resume by unplugging and replugging the iTrip into the power port, wiggling the plug or the wires...and sometimes nothing works. Haven't pulled my receipt and warranty, but I suspect I have no recourse at this point. Very disappointing for something that costs $50+ (after tax). Not sure what else I can use to listen to my iPod in the car since I don't have an auxiliary jack, but I'll be looking for another alternative unless Griffin will replace this one.

I bought this and it worked fine for about a month then suddenly the reception got really fuzzy. I haven't changed locations or devices with it, haven't even removed the unit from the car. I tried a friend's transmitter just to see if it wasn't the ipod or somehow the radio. The other transmitter worked fine. Looks like I'm out a few bucks and I've got another useless electronic device to dispose of.
Griffin Technology NA22046 Review by camisado
I ordered this product after lots of debate. It was more expensive than some of the other products out there, and I really had no idea how to go about judging one from the other. I decided on this one because my boyfriend had it and liked it, and I'm so glad I did. First of all, the same product was being sold at Wal-mart for $50, but I got it for closer to $30 on here. Secondly, it works beautifully. I live in a very rural area, so there are several blank stations to choose from. More than one of them works, which is very nice. Although there are slight bits of static near some traffic lights, it doesn't make a huge difference since there aren't many traffic lights around here, and it isn't even a consistent problem. It has a little bit more difficulty on the highway when moving in and out of regions with different blank stations, but that is to be expected. I really love this thing, and it even will charge my iPod touch, which was a must-have for me when buying. I would highly recommend it if you live in a rural area with blank stations, it works like a charm.
